A fantastic Bill Wyman presentation signed by the former Rolling Stone bass guitarist.
This incredible item is a flamboyant ring previously owned by legendary guitarist Jimi Hendrix. The ring was obtained by a lady named Susan Cook at a Jimi Hendrix Experience performance at the Gaumont in Hanley, Stoke-on-Trent, on Sunday 23rd April 1967. Susan had waited, with her friend, outside the stage door to catch a glimpse of the legendary guitarist after the show. Whilst loading the bands equipment someone tried to steal a guitar. Hendrix and Susan along with several fans chased after the thief, finally retrieving the guitar. After boarding the coach to depart Hendrix slid open the window and handed Susan the ring as a sign of appreciation. The ring had since been in Susan's ownership for almost 50 years. This ring comes with an affidavit and supporting provenance. It has been featured on the Antiques Roadshow and also in newspapers.
A legend in the music industry, Paul McCartney became one of the most famous bassists of all time during his days with The Beatles. This Hofner bass is an exact match for the guitar McCartney would use on stage, which has been signed on the faux pearl pickguard. This signature is extremely rare, especially on a bass such as this. McCartney is recognised in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame for both his time in the Beatles and as a solo artist, where together he has sold more than 100 million albums.
